DAFF goes to GUTH GAFA Documentary Film Festival!!

A couple of weeks ago, David Rane one of the Co-Creators of Guth Gafa Documentary Film Festival rang and asked me to curate a reel of animated short films that were suitable for small children. He wanted a selection of films that were entertaining and educational!

Well we got to work and we were delighted with the response on Saturday 6th!! The screening took place in the travelling Road House Cinema in the grounds of the beautiful Headfort School in Kells, Co. Meath. The reel included several DAFF favourites including the award winning ‘Macropolis’ by Flickerpix, ‘Miss Todd’ directed by Kristina Yee and some new favourites including Tom Caulfied’s ‘Unhinged’ and Wigglywoo’s ‘Doopydo’ and the graduate film ‘Joining Dots’ which wowed audiences at Galway Fleadh and DAFF in 2016.

A big thank you to Anahita Tarbusi and Damien O’Conor at Brown Bag Films, Susan Broe at Wiggly Woo, Kristina Yee, Sophie Kinsella, Kayleigh Scullion, Fiona Ryan, Olly Blake, Tom Caulfield, Bobby Strain, Joel Simon and Flickerpix/Waddell Media for their support!

A big thank you to David, Neasa, Leyla and the team at Guth Gafa for their hospitality and a wonderful time.

PS – If you get the change to go and see the documentary ‘The Farthest’ directed by Emer Reynolds, don’t pass it up. The film is great!
