Winning Films 2011

2011 was the year that we launched the festival in Blackrock. It was the year when Ireland was really feeling the effects of the recession! The screenings were held in a former Methodist Church in Blackrock village and a comic book workshop was held in an empty shop unit provided a local shopping centre. Over 20 short films were screened that day and five awards were presented that evening. One of the winning entries ‘Audition’ by Udo Prinsen from the Netherlands would be screened at Annecy in 2012 and was shortlisted for the Annecy Cristal Award.
